This week, the Acoustic Highway features music from Richie Havens. He emerged from the thriving Greenwich Village folk music scene of the early 1960s and catapulted to fame when he opened the legendary Woodstock Music Festival in 1970. He became a leading advocate for environmental causes while continuing his music career. Havens died in 2013 and left behind a legacy as a brilliant singer-songwriter. We’ll also feature a set from the North Carolina-based band Chatam County Line. They were in town last year as the accompanying band to Judy Collins when she streamed a concert from Chrysler Hall. They will return in March to the Suffolk Center for the Cultural Arts. We’ll also have a new song from local artist Richard Spano. Plenty to hear and enjoy, on this week’s Acoustic Highway. Join us Sunday night at 9 on WHRV FM.
