After a slew of unsuccess, heartthrob Hal Carter (William Holden) takes a train to a small town in Kansas to reunite with his old college friend, Alan Benson (Cliff Robertson). Hal hasn't amounted to much in life and seeks for an opportunity in town. While the town is preparing for its annual picnic, Hal ends up meeting Madge Owens (Kim Novak), and they immediately fall for one another. Alan, however, is her boyfriend. The result is a tense romantic atmosphere in a quiet town. WHRO's Cinema15 presents Picnic on Saturday, February 24 at 8 p.m.
