On this week’s Pickin' on WHRV, we conclude our month long birthday celebration of Bluegrass icons Del McCoury and Dr. Ralph Stanley. Del McCoury began his career playing Baltimore Honky-Tonk Bars in the 1950s. Ralph Stanley was a part of the famed Stanley Brothers duo. Following the death of his brother Carter, he carved out a new career as a solo artist and emerged as the leading savior of sound for traditional mountain music. Two Bluegrass icons on Pickin', Sunday night at 7:00 on WHRV.
