He brings in the Marines for this 4th of July show – the US Marine Band of Washington playing Morton Gould’s ‘Star Spangled Overture’ and William Schuman’s ‘American Hymn.’ Beethoven shows up as well via the Piano Sonata No. 24 and the Symphony No. 8, plus George Antheil’s Symphony No. 3, the ‘American.’
