4:30 p.m. – Painting the Wyland Way 2: Sea Turtle Rising
The host of Wyland's Art Studio, famed marine artist and conservation advocate Wyland, brings his latest creation to life in his second public television special. Wyland shares basic and advanced painting techniques while taking his students step-by-step through the creation of a naturalistic underwater scene. For his subject matter, he chooses to paint one of the ocean's gentle giants, a sea turtle rising gracefully above a sunlit tropical reef, surrounded by a school of fish. Along the way, he shares his insights on perspective, composition, color theory, color mixing, texture, scale and form, and provides tips on sketching and finishing.

5:00 p.m. – Rick Steves’ European Christmas
From manger scenes and mistletoe to wintry wonderlands, Rick Steves’ European Christmas celebrates the Christmas season throughout the European continent. In the special, Rick visits friends and families in England, France, Norway, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy to reveal their customs and practices of the holiday season. He begins his travels in England, where the Christmas pudding is the real centerpiece of a traditional English holiday meal. In Paris, the Eiffel Tower heralds the season with its red, twinkling lights. And in the countryside of Tuscany, villagers stack neat pyramids of wood for great bonfires. The lighting of the fires is a signal to villagers — dressed as shepherds — to come and sing old carols.
