Jazz: My Evolution

As a drummer, composer and music educator, Jae Sinnetthas spent 35-plus years performing music. At an early age, he became interested in Jazz. "Jazz presented an entirely new world for me with rhythm, drum set variation and creativity, and thought processes," he told public media staff in an interview last year.

To celebrate International Jazz Day, Sinnett has produced a radio special that will at on Friday, April 30, at 1 p.m. on WHRV. 

Follow along with Jae as he describes his evolution in music and the many styles that influenced him.

"Jazz is a deeply interactive genre and to play the music effectively, years of study and commitment are required," he advises students of the genre. "Jazz can be a complex, and at times, confusing listen, but with patient and objective listening, learning to appreciate jazz can become an exciting and uplifting experience."
