In a Florida rest home, residents Art (Don Ameche), Ben (Wilford Brimley) and Joe (Hume Cronyn) often trespass into the abandoned house next door to use swim in its pool. A mysterious man named Walter (Brian Dennehy) eventually rents out the building. Walter, along with his companions, turn out to be aliens from the planet Antarea disguised as humans. They arrived on Earth with the mission of retrieving and restoring the lost cocoons from their old outpost in Atlantis. In order to ensure the survival of the cocoons during the trip back home, they charge the abandon house's swimming pool with life force and deposit the cocoons there. Art, Ben and Joe, who still swim in the pool without permission, discover that they have become rejuvenated and more youthful.  The three men eventually learn about the Antareans and the reason for the pool's restorative properties and make a pact to ensure the success of their mission. Unlike other entries of the genre, Cocoon is a sci-fi film that reflects upon our mortality as humans in a heart-warming display. WHRO's Cinema 15 presents Cocoon on Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m.
