Almost 30 years after its premier in 1990, the award-winning documentary by legendary filmmaker Ken Burns will hit the small screen again for its anniversary. A homecoming of sorts as it was first broadcast here on PBS, it will once again grace its screens. The documentary has become a classic that garnered over 39 million viewers and made itself the most watched program to ever air on PBS. It was later awarded more than 40 major television and film honors including including two Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, Producer of the Year Award from the Producers Guild of America, People's Choice Award, Peabody Award, and more.

It is revered as "unforgettable" by Newsweek, "epic" by CBS Morning, the documentary has been remastered in high definition for a newer age of soon-to-be captivated audiences. See video clips and interviews with Ken Burns, Geoffrey Ward, Ric Burns, Buddy Squires and others.
