Jonah Grinkewitz is an assistant producer of public affairs and digital media at WHRO Public Media. He develops, edits and produces content that appears on-air and online.
Jonah is an alumnus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English journalism with a minor in American Studies. His journalistic career actually began at WHRO, where he interned on the program HearSay with Cathy Lewis. He also went on to serve as news director for ODU’s student newspaper The Mace & Crown.
After graduation, he found his way back to WHRO where he officially joined the HearSay production team. As assistant producer for the show, he is always looking for ways to turn the latest news into a meaningful conversation. Jonah is also a musician, and his love for songwriting inspired him to develop the WHRO podcast Lyrical, which he hosts and produces. Lyrical combines candid conversation with intimate musical performances to tell the story behind songwriters’ most meaningful work. Whether it is through music or other audio, Jonah loves to incorporate sound into his work to enhance the experience for listeners.
When he’s not reading the news, he’s playing in his band Court Street Company, walking his dog Chai or getting gelato with his wife Lauren.
