Astropop3 formed in Virginia Beach in the mid 90s and released a string of critically acclaimed albums through the early 2000s. 

In this episode, Villanueva discussed the song, “The Courage To Be Great Lies In Every One Of Us,” from their 2001 album Eclipsing Binary Star. 

He shared how it took on new meaning after his former band mate, Keith Vanetta, was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. 

“I have a lot of time-travel songs,” Villanueva said. “Songs that I listen to now that are so relative to the things going on.”
