The Wood Brothers have been a big part of the jam-band circuit for years and on their new album, “Kingdom in My Mind” they use that freewheeling mindset by jamming on the songs in the studio and then editing them to a manageable length afterward.

The trio of Oliver and Chris Wood with multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix have been putting out music with soul, blues, folk, gospel and jazz roots for over fifteen years and the new album combines those elements on some of the best songs they’ve ever recorded.

This is the first recording they’ve made in their newly opened studio in Nashville and they got so comfortable in their new surroundings that many of the songs came out of 10 to 20 minute jams sessions that would then be edited down for the album.

The process for recording this album was so unique it’s been compared to a film editor finding the right take or a sculptor chipping away at a block of marble.  The music that has resulted is just as artful.
