Richard Spano is one of the defining artists that helped to build Southeastern Virginia into a haven for singer-songwriters. A long time veteran on the local music scene, Richard has played in almost every venue in the region and has also been a key sound man for countless performers. He was instrumental in the musical line up and sound for Hampton Bay Days and worked with the Virginia Arts Festival. He also performed music composition and sound design for the Shakespeare by the Sea Festival in Virginia Beach. He has toured with Australian Guitar Legend Tommy Emmanuel and has also been a continuous presence at local and regional festivals. Richard Spano is a local treasure and appears again on the Sunday before Christmas holiday program with his celebrated original tune “A Soldier Song.”
