This year, Thanksgiving falls near the end of the month, on November 28. As always, we’ll bring you warm and joyful music throughout the day to enhance your holiday celebrations. In addition to our local programming with your favorite WHRO hosts, we will also offer these special programs from American Public Media for your enjoyment on Thanksgiving Day:

9:00-11:00 a.m. Giving Thanks: A Celebration of Fall, Food & Gratitude

Giving Thanks with host John Birge offers a contemporary celebration of gratitude, with classical music and stories of Thanksgiving. Great American writers will grace us this Thanksgiving, 2019. Giving Thanks remembers poet Mary Oliver as she reads poems of gratitude and nature. Walt Whitman stops by to celebrate Thanksgiving and his 200th birthday, and we'll set a place at the table for New Yorker writer, best-selling author, humorist, and turkey aficionado Adam Gopnik.

3:00-4:00 p.m. Every Good Thing

Host Andrea Blain and classical music fans from around the country take time to give thanks and celebrate one of life's most meaningful gifts: music. Hear listeners from across the U.S. share stories about their favorite classical music pieces.

Tune in to WHRO FM for the perfect complement to your Thanksgiving festivities. We wish you and yours a safe and happy holiday!
