Thursday, Oct. 24, 4:15 p.m. - 90.3 FM

Join us Thursday afternoon on WHRO FM for an interview with composer Caroline Shaw. Based in New York, Shaw is a vocalist, violinist, composer and producer who performs in solo and collaborative projects. At age 30, she was the youngest-ever winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2013, and she enjoys a large following both on recordings and YouTube. She has studied at Rice, Yale, and Princeton, currently teaches at NYU, and is a creative associate at the Juilliard School.

The talented composer will be a guest artist for this week’s concert series by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The concerts will feature Shaw collaborating with Edwin Outwater, a conductor known throughout the world for reinventing the concert experience with major orchestras. She will also be performing her own works with the VSO, as both violinist and singer.

You can catch the concerts Thursday and Saturday nights as well as Sunday afternoon. Learn more and see venues at virginiasymphony.org
