The Acoustic Highway celebrates the 50th anniversary of the legendary 1974 release Court and Spark by Joni Mitchell. The album has been hailed as a masterpiece and was named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the greatest albums of all time. It remains Mitchell’s most successful album and peaked at number two on the American Charts and number 1 on the Canadian Charts. Court and Spark would receive three Grammy nominations in 1975 including for “Album of the Year.” We’ll hear several selections from it. Also, music from Graham Nash, James Taylor, and John Denver. We’ll also have a set of regional musicians including Richmond-based Gerry Laverty, Pamela McCarthy, and Ocracoke Island band “Molasses Creek.” It’s a full Highway, Sunday night at 9:00 on WHRV.
