We are thrilled to announce a fresh lineup that brings local and regional news, perspectives, and community stories to WHRV.

Starting January 26, you can look forward to WHRO Weekly Edition hosted by Doug Boynton on Fridays at noon. Doug brings experience, creativity, and passion for connecting our community with local and regional news. Working closely with our newsroom and local experts, Dr. Barry Graham and Connor Worley will produce the weekly news program. We are confident the program will resonate with you and serve our community by adding an exciting new dimension to your weekly listening routine. The program will be available on broadcast, through iTunes, and on-demand at whro.org.

With mixed emotions, we share the news that our beloved show, Watching America, will bid farewell to the radio schedule this month, after a truly remarkable and successful run. We want to express our deepest gratitude to host and creator Dr. Alan Campbell, producer Belinda Elliott, audio engineer Jordan Christie, and each and every guest who has been a part of this incredible program.

“Alan’s remarkable ability to engage with and extract profound insights from a diverse range of guests sets him apart as an exceptional interviewer,” said Bert Schmidt, president and CEO of WHRO Public Media. “His unique approach to asking questions others dare not ask has left an indelible mark, and for that, we thank him for a job extraordinarily well done.”

While change can be bittersweet, we genuinely believe these adjustments will usher in a dynamic era for WHRV, prioritizing local and regional news and delivering on our promise to inform the community. We understand that you may have developed strong connections with our previous programming, and we assure you that we have made these changes with great care and consideration.

Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being an essential part of the WHRV family.
