Big Thief is a band with a lot to share, “Two Hands” is their second album of 2019 and including vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Adrienne Lenker’s solo album from last October that’s three albums in one year. Considering that each is better than the last this is the rapid emergence of an important band.

Lenker's warbly, quivering vocals are as unique as they are other worldly, there is no one who sounds like her. 

On “Two Hands,” unlike the more highly polished predecessor “U.F.O.F.” the band is live in the studio with each song seeming like a first take. The band’s interplay takes on the intensity of a live album.

With songs that range from quiet confessionals to angry environmental rants, the emotionalism is palpable and while their prolific output is impressive, the quality of the music indicates that this is a band just hitting it’s stride.
