Slowdive’s new album “Everything is Alive” is an unlikely success story. They were a big shoegaze band in the 90’s  but stopped recording for over twenty years before releasing a well received album in 2017. The new album evolves the band’s sound bringing them into the forefront of the neo psychedelic scene.

The new album blurs vocals and instruments into a wall of sound as they have done before but in a more contemporary way with the help of engineer Shawn Everett who has worked on albums by the War On Drugs and Big Thief. His influence helps to make the new album so mesmerizing.

Neil halstead is the band’s main songwriter and the wash of synths and psychedelic guitars embolden his compositions with moody vocals by Rachael Goswell. Halstead’s avant guarde tendencies are more focused into emotional sound scapes.
