Mike Proffitt is an absolute local legend in music. He’s been a staple of the Hampton Roads music scene since the early 80s. He was the Winner of the 1997 Tidewater Entertainer’s Association songwriter’s competition, and was named the 1999 MEONA Best Male Performer in the Hampton Roads area. he’s opened for the Doobie Brothers, Kenny Loggins, Train, and plenty of other national acts stopping in the region. And, he’s been a good friend over the years to WHRV having appeared on the Acoustic Highway on numerous occasions. Tune in Sunday night as local artists including Mike take over the Highway performing their versions of great songs and sharing their thoughts on the music.
