On this week’s Acoustic Highway, we celebrate the 111th Birthday of the legendary Woody Guthrie. Born, July 14th, 1912, Guthrie became the premier song maker and artist in folk music. We’ll hear a wide selection of his songs, including several from a rare series of tapes found in New York City in 2003. The tapes were remastered and issued as a multi-disc set. We’ll also hear selections from artists who have been influenced by Guthrie and his work including, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Ramblin Jack Elliott, and others. Tune in for a birthday celebration for Woody Guthrie. Sunday night on the Highway. 9:00 p.m. here on WHRV.
