Pickin' host Barry Graham salutes his father Herman R. Graham on this week’s Pickin' on WHRV. Born, July 20, 1923, he loved Bluegrass ballads and classic country music. Growing up, Barry spent countless hours listening to the music which played continuously in his dad’s garage. Frequent listeners to the program often will hear Barry say, “It was my dad who taught me to love Bluegrass.” To honor his dad’s 100th birthday, this week, Barry will feature two hours of CDs and music from his dad’s collection, which now is a part of the WHRO library. We’ll hear a healthy dose of Bluegrass Gospel with artists Flatt and Scruggs, Blue Highway, the Osborne Brothers, and plenty of others. Tune in for Mr. Graham’s music on Pickin'.
