This week, the Acoustic Highway concludes our month long revisit of classic country with a look at some of the great male voices of country music. Artists Lefty Frizzel, George Jones, Conway Twitty and Jim Reeves will be featured. Classic hits will be heard like Hank Williams performing “Jambalaya “ along with lesser known classics like Johnny Cash on “Cry, Cry, Cry” which launched him on a nationwide tour with another up-and-coming singer named Elvis Presley. A few contemporary familiar tunes also get featured like Charley Pride’s “Kiss an Angel Good Morning” and Charlie Rich’s “Behind Closed Doors.” It’s an hour full of great country classics Sunday night at 9:00 on WHRV FM and streamed live on whrv.org.
