This Sunday, Pickin on WHRV features the music of Byron Berline. The national fiddler champion played with a who’s who of the music world, including Bob Dylan, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Stephen Stills, John Denver, and plenty of others. He famously turned down Bill Monroe’s offer to be a Bluegrass Boy after meeting him at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965 ( he had vowed to finish his college education and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma).  He would go on to become one of the most versatile and sought-after fiddle players in all musical genres.
