It’s an unprecedented time when women are leading the way in rock and roll and Bully’s new album “Lucky For You” is the latest to illustrate that fact. With equal parts punk, shoegaze, brit pop and anthemic rock, it’s an album meant to be played loud.

Led by Alicia Bagnanno, Bully has been recording since 2015 while slowly becoming a solo project for her. She and her producer JT Daly play most of the instruments with a great cameo appearance by Soccer Mommy on one of the most powerful songs

There’s an undercurrent of grief to these songs because Bagnanno’s longtime pet dog died recently. She says “Mezzi was my best friend, she made me feel safe and empowered, the living breathing proof that I was worthy of being loved.”

“Lucky For You” has a massive sound with rockers about her new found sobriety along with her anger about social issues like global warming, gun control and abortion rights. Bully perseveres with an unapologetic rock and roll attitude.
