This Week on The Acoustic Highway, we’ll hear selections from The Essential John Denver collection. Denver was a cultural icon in the 1970s with a string of hit singles and chart-topping albums.  His song Rocky Mountain High was adopted as a state song for Colorado and his hit Take me Home Country Roads was named a state song for West Virginia.  Denver jumped from relative obscurity to becoming the top star of the decade.  We’ll hear several of his hits.  Denver’s Rocky Mountain High album was recently reissued on the fiftieth anniversary of its release.  Also, music from the Celtic Café which is a Putamaya Record Label release. We’ll hear from the legendary Dougie Maclean, The Battlefield Band, and Cara Dillion. Tune in for the wonders of the Acoustic Highway.

Tune in Sunday at 9:00 p.m. on WHRV 89.5 FM
