The Wood Brothers’ new album “One Drop of Truth” has an irresistible friendliness to it, not only in Oliver Wood’s quirky southern twang but the way the songs are unique to themselves, like enthralling stories told by a gifted raconteur.

Acoustic ballads mixed with funky swamp blues, jazz elements intermingling with folk and gospel, this album is a rollercoaster of styles whose very differences is was makes them fit together so well.

This is their first self-produced album and the instrumentation is all their own too with popping bass melodies by Chris Wood, Oliver Wood’s guitar and vocals and their secret weapon, Jano Rix a multi-intrumentalist who adds some unexpected texture.

Over the course of their career The Wood Brothers have etched their own space in the crowded roots-rock movement but along the way they have created a unique and instantly recognizable sound. "One Drop of Truth" is the culmination of what they began and the album’s confidence and stellar musicianship show they are among the best today.
