This Week on The Acoustic Highway --- In the 1950s, only a few years after 33 lps were issued, Oscar Peterson honored the legendary Duke Ellington with an album covering his music. Today, over seventy years later, musicians are still paying tribute with releases honoring other musicians, bands, and songwriters. On this week’s Acoustic Highway, we’ll hear some of these homages to Bruce Springsteen, Merle Haggard, Tom Waits, Greg Brown, Billy Joe Shaver, Johnny Cash, and others. The ultimate compliment- a tribute album, on the Highway.
