The Swedish sisters of First Aid Kit could not have known that the "Metoo" phenomenon would be taking hold while they were recording  their fourth album, “Ruins” but it is the perfect sound track for a movement that empowers women and encourages individuality.

The upbeat cheerfulness of their last album is replaced with a personality that is warier, sadder and in the end more informed about love. Their sibling harmonies are unique and effortless, bringing more than just the sum of their parts to the recording.

Long-time folk-rock producer Tucker Martine guides these songs home and Peter Buck of REM brings his multi-instrumental finesse to the guitars and pedal steel.

Although still in their twenties, the Soderberg Sisters, Klara and Johanna have been adding to their musical mystique for ten years now and they have drawn from that experience to produce an album that inspires confidence and shows the way for many who may be in need of that direction.
