As we head into our Membership Drive, I've been thinking about all of the reasons why I love working at and supporting WHRO Public Media; one of the biggest reasons is the opportunity to share and explore new music with our listeners.

I'm excited to announce we'll be offering a special program of music from the world of Downton Abbey on Sunday, September 15, at 6 p.m. on WHRO-FM.

Downton Abbey features an acclaimed score by composer John Lunn, along with music from the classical canon enjoyed in the Crawleys’ grand estate, including romantic waltzes, 18th-century quartets, opera arias and parlor songs.

Just in time for the release of the new Downton Abbey film, we’ll journey through the heartbreaks, triumphs and tragedies of Yorkshire, interwoven with timeless melodies from some of the greatest composers of all time.

Tune in Sunday, September 15, at 6 p.m.
