Pickin' on WHRV explores some of the second-generation bands that emerged in the 1960s and 70s after the groundwork for the genre was laid by masters like Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, and The Stanley Brothers. Artists like JD Crowe, Larry Sparks, and The Seldom Scene all contributed to its continued growth and emergence as a true American art form.

Tune in to hear how the music kept emerging with these talented artists.
