Sloan is a long-time power pop band from Canada who have gone under the radar for almost thirty years and their new album “Steady” isn’t going to change that, but like the title suggests, they have been one of the most consistently superb rock and roll bands since their 1996 breakthrough album.

Consistency has been possible for Sloan because they have the same four man lineup since they debuted in 1993.  Like long-time lovers who complete each other’s sentences, Sloan’s band members share lead vocals, song writing and instrumental breaks almost telepathically.

Singing of touring difficulties, wanderlust, conspiracy theories, each song packs a wallop of killer hooks, great harmonies and guitar licks.

International rock stardom may not be in the cards for Sloan, but they continue to churn out bright, optimistic, smart rock and roll with little interest in change just for the sake of change. They know what they can do and they do it well.
