Born, September 17, 1923, he would become one of the most influential country musicians ever. He had over 55 singles chart with 12 reaching number 1.  We’ll also hear from one of the great honky-tonk singers of the 1950s Faron Young. He had a string of charting hits in the 1950s and early 60s that firmly established him as a major star in the golden era of country music.
