July starts the beginning of our new fiscal year and as is tradition we are welcoming new programs to the schedule. Starting July 1 we will make the following changes.

NPR 1A BonW

1A with Joshua Johnson will air weekdays from 10 a.m. - noon. Since joining the lineup, 1A has proven to be an example of a well-targeted and highly focused show, which speaks to what is happening right now in America. We are pleased to take the full two-hour live weekday program.

Political Junkie 300

Ken Rudin’s Political Junkie will join the schedule Friday afternoons at 1 p.m. - As one of America’s foremost experts in politics and campaign history, Ken was a longtime favorite on Talk of the Nation along with his column by the same name which ran in the Washington Post before making his leap to NPR. Ken now hosts a weekly program and is a contributor to many local and national public radio programs. Ken is also a columnist for the USA Today newspaper and website, and contributes to various publications around the world. In our heightened political climate, adding Ken to our lineup is sure to be a success!

The Moth Hour will move to Wednesdays at 1 p.m.

Science Friday

Science Friday with Ira Flatow returns to the WHRV schedule Friday afternoons at 2 p.m. Since leaving the schedule two years ago, Fridays were missing that special magic only Ira and his team can bring with their unique take on news, information, health, stories and curiosity of science which always delighted listeners. Now distributed by WNYC, we are delighted to bring the program back to WHRV.

As with all program changes, in order to make room we do say goodbye to two incredible programs - On Point and Radio Lab. Thankfully, both can be heard for free via podcast as well as the WHRO App. If you have questions or concerns about WHRV programs, please contact Chuck Doud, Director of Programming and Audience Strategy at This email address is being protected from spambots.
