Jessica Lea Mayfield’s fourth album “Sorry is Gone” musically chronicles her real life escape from an abusive relationship. The little girl innocence of her  melancholy vocals are given a new dimension in this collection of songs about ultimately overcoming frightening obstacles.

The album begins with a song that sounds confiident and powerful until she reveals the cracks in the façade she has created.

Mayfield is at times bitter, sometimes calm with turmoil never far away and her use of that tension is refelected in the sometimes Americana, sometimes indie rock arrangements and instrumentation.

Jessica Lea Mayfield describes a rough time in her life on “Sorry is Gone” but based on the music, she has gained a new sense of empowerment and has emerged more self-assured than ever.
