Dr. Lynne Fenton
On July 20, 2012, a mass shooter took the lives of 12 people and injured 70 others when he opened fire in a theater in Aurora, Colorado. Prior to the shooting, the killer had been seeing a psychiatrist, Dr. Lynne Fenton, at the University of Colorado Medical School.
When his pyschiatrist's name was inadvertently released to the press, Fenton faced harsh criticism by those who suggested she should have done something to prevent the tragedy. At the time, Fenton was under a gag order and could not discuss the case, but she shares her journey in her new memoir, Aurora: The Psychiatrist Who Treated the Movie Theater Killer Tells Her Story, co-authored by Kerrie Droban.
