Writer’s Block, the WHRV initiative that features local playwrights, poets, and storytellers reciting their original work joined by a musician performing live, returns Sunday Morning at 11:00 on 89.5 FM. This edition of Writer’s Block was recorded in July 2018 at the WHRO Teleconference Center and features musician Mike Lawson. Join us for wonderful stories like Cliff Bryant’s “Summer of 1001 Apartments.”

The next Writer’s Block will be held May 8 at Virginia Wesleyan University’s Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center and is a combined effort with sister station WHRO-FM 90.3 when their classical music open mic series provides the music for the readers. The public is invited. Opening reception is at 6:30 p.m. and readings/music begins at 7 p.m. Get more details and register to attend.
