Join WHRV 89.5 FM's Jae Sinnett for the world premiere screening of Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary on Tuesday, June 6, at 7:15 p.m. at the Naro Expanded Cinema. Jae hosts WHRV's Sinnett in Session and is an accomplished jazz musician and educator. Prior to the screening of the film, he will lead the audience in an engaging conversation and share his thoughts on the documentary as well as what Coltrane meant to American music culture.

Chasing Trane is the definitive documentary film about an outside-the-box thinker with extraordinary talent whose boundary-shattering music continues to impact and influence people around the world. This smart, passionate, thought-provoking and uplifting documentary is for anyone who appreciates the power of music to entertain, inspire and transform.

The film is written and directed by critically-acclaimed documentary filmmaker John Scheinfeld (The U.S. vs. John Lennon). Scheinfeld brings his strong story-telling skills to the creation of a rich, textured and compelling narrative that takes the audience to unexpected places. Set against the social, political and cultural landscape of the times, Chasing Trane brings John Coltrane to life as a fully dimensional being, inviting the audience to engage with Coltrane the man, Coltrane the artist. The film features never-before-seen John Coltrane live performance footage and rare television appearances from around the world. Coltrane's incredible story is told by the musicians that worked with him and those who were inspired by him.
