LADADA is a Va Beach band that has been recording since 2014 and their full length debut album “Heaven on the Rocks” shows off the band’s psych-rock chops and the ease with which they convey these musical creations is magnetic.

Led by Josiah Schlater, formerly of MAE, LADADA’s songs share an infectious fuzz tone and nonchalant attitude. The euphoric sounding rockers are accompanied by some shorter soundscapes including guitar meanderings and wordless vocal arrangements giving the album’s main songs much more impact.

The album’s title was inspired by a tubing excursion down the James river, when smooth peaceful currents suddenly gave way to painful rocks jutting up from underneath. The experience serves as a metaphor for life when problems overtake an easy going existence.

Schlater says “There are a myriad of short-term remedies for the pain and I hope this album can be one of them.” Their artfully constructed psychedelic songs create a casual vibe that can help to turn aside the real world.
