On this week’s Acoustic Highway, we’ll feature one of the most beloved bands of the 1970’s. America formed in 1970 with members Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek and Gerry Beckley. They quickly found success with now classic songs like "A Horse with No Name," "I Need You," and "Ventura Highway." They won a Grammy in 1973 for Best New Artist and their 1975 release History: American’s Greatest Hits was one of the bestselling albums of the decade. We’ll also hear a song from Patrick Sky who was a major part of the Greenwich Village folk boom of the 1960s and was a close contemporary of legendary artist Dave Van Ronk. It’s contemporary and classic folk, on this week’s Acoustic Highway. Sunday night at 9 on WHRV.
