March 9, 1 PM
In week two of our Educationally Speaking series, we focus on "The Science of Smart" — exploring new discoveries in how students can successfully study and improve memory, and how language immersion is changing the capacity for learning. We speak to Allison Farnsworth, School Improvement Specialist in Virginia Beach, who discusses how testing creates the learning environment. Claire Berube, Professor of Educational Psychology from Hampton University, explains that the innate capacity for learning can be taught to struggling students. Finally, we talk to Jennifer Carson, Language Immersion Specialist, and discover how multi-lingual students have a greater capacity for learning than their mono-lingual peers.
The show is produced by Barry Graham and Kathy Martin.
