It’s Women’s History Month and this week, on Pickin', we honor some of the great female voices of Classic Country Music. We’ll hear from Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and The Queen of Country Music, Kitty Wells. It wasn’t easy for these early pioneers. Record labels felt it was risky to finance and promote their music. Slowly though, through perseverance, the industry began to embrace women in country music.
