Drummer, composer, arranger, educator, band leader and WHRV Jazz host Jae Sinnett has performed over the years with many Jazz icons and in many formats. Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, and even rock and roll back in the day. Last year Jae was asked if he would consider playing a Christmas show, he immediately agreed and then thought, “What have I gotten myself into?” He would have to rethink the classics and conceptualize those songs in the style of the Zero to 60 Quartet. Jae chose holiday favorites that were more malleable. God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman, Little Drummer Boy and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas just to name a few. To make things more interesting Jae brought in Grammy-nominated singer Denise Donatelli, joined by saxophonist Ralph Bowen, pianist Allen Farnham, and bassist Terry Burrell.

WHRO captured the live performance last December and we are thrilled to offer it in our holiday line Friday, December 21 at 9 p.m. We hope you will enjoy Jae’s take on the holiday classics.
