Hard to top a Danny Elfman score when trying to achieve a spooky mood. Luckily, he's composed the music for the film adaptation of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps, just in time for the holiday.

The former frontman for the 80s band Oingo Boingo got his start writing for film when director Tim Burton hired him for Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Thirty years later, they have an almost exclusive relationship, although Elfman has also written music for everything from Avengers: Age of Ultron to Fifty Shades of Grey. As Elfman works on his 100th score, he acknowledges his recognizable sound. He told The Village Voice that "I'm sure when you hear the score to Goosebumps you'll go, 'Well sure, that's Danny Elfman.' I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel there. I won't pretend that you won't recognize my style. But I hope of, say, five pieces, at least a few of them, if my name doesn't appear at the top, you'll hear the music, see my name at the end, and think, 'I had no idea that was Danny Elfman.'?"
