Pickin' on WHRV delves deep into its bluegrass library this week with some classic recordings including the legendary 1973 release by JD Crowe and The New South entitled Bluegrass Evolution. We’ll also hear selections from the North Carolina based band The Grass Cats and their 2012 CD The Mountains My Baby and Me as well as an outstanding album from former Lonesome River Band front man Ronnie Bowman. Released in 1994, entitled Cold Virginia Night it features a ton of notable backing musicians including Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Sammy Shelor, Del McCoury, and Tony Rice.
