On this week’s Pickin', we pay tribute to the late bluegrass fiddle master Byron Berline. He was the winner of three national fiddle competitions and a member of the National Fiddler Hall of Fame. He performed with Bill Monroe, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and did solo work with Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones. Locals here might remember his performance at the legendary folk club “The Red Mule” on Colley Avenue in Norfolk. We’ll hear selections from his band “Country Gazette” and another group he worked with “Sundance.” We remember the great Byron Berline, Sunday night at 7 on Pickin'.
