John Hiatt’s “The Eclipse Sessions” was recorded over four days surrounding the solar eclipse of 2017 inspiring him to record one of his best albums in years.

Using the dark/light metaphor, Hiatt bares his soul on eleven new songs accompanied by a rootsy three piece band illuminating his vocals and focusing on his inciteful lyrics. 

He confronts his age with the usual; honesty and a sly wink, acknowledging how long he has been on his game like this.

John Hiatt has been one of the most consistently great singer songwriters of the last twenty years alone, long after his heyday in the Eighties and this, his first album in four years proves he’s not ready to fade away.
