The Virginia Symphony’s broadcast season on WHRO-FM begins Wednesday evening with a gala opening night concert welcoming the celebrated pianist Emanuel Ax, who will be soloist in two works, the Mozart Piano Concerto No. 14 and “Burlesque” by Richard Strauss.  Rounding out the concert will be another work by Strauss, “Don Juan” and Maurice Ravel’s sensuous “La Valse”.  JoAnn Falletta conducts.  Enjoy our own Virginia Symphony on the air beginning Wednesday at 9 PM.
