Czech composer Antonin Dvorak came to New York in 1892 to become the Director of the National Conservatory of Music.  He spent the summer of 1893 in the little town of Spillville, Iowa, in the company of Czech immigrants who had settled there.  This convivial atmosphere inspired Dvorak to compose a series of delightful works, music reflecting his visit to these shores but always informed by his native land.  This week we will hear those works, one per day, on Morning Classics during the 9:00 o’clock hour.  Tune in and enjoy the results of Dvorak’s summer vacation.
