This Friday, Another View will kick off a month of coverage dedicated to mental health and mental illness.

As June is National Mens Health Month, Another View will explore the issues facing black men and mental wellbeing in an episode this Friday, June 22, at noon. Friday’s episode features counselor and licensed clinical social worker Kevin Childs in addition to cardiologist and Another View co-host Dr. Keith Newby, with whom Another View will discuss the issues black men face in confronting mental health issues, as while as the stigma surrounding mental illness in the African American community.

This episode begins a month of coverage on mental illness coverage by Another View – in July, the show will devote a portion of each broadcast to discussing mental health issues, ranging from depression to bipolar disorder.

These segments will lead up to another full broadcast of Another View dedicated to mental health premiering July 27th at noon. This broadcast will focus on black women and mental health, looking at mental health issues through the lens of African American women.

Tune in this month for a positive and constructive discussion of the mental health issues and stigmas surrounding mental illness in the African American community!
