On this week’s Pickin', we feature the music of the Osborne Brothers. Bobby and Sonny Osborne emerged in the 1950s after teaming with bluegrass notables like Bill Monroe, Red Allen and Jimmy Martin. Their first single “Ruby, are you Mad” became a monster hit and they were soon members of the Grand Ole Opry. Their 1967 hit “Rocky Top” was named the official Tennessee State Song and in 1973, The Osborne Brothers became the first bluegrass group to ever play at the White House. Today, The Osborne Brothers are remembered as major stars who helped build the genre. Tune in Sunday at 7:00 p.m. for The Osborne Brothers, Bluegrass at its finest, on Pickin.
